We would like folks to meet more frequently in all the tribes and many times clarity on who is going to foot the bill creates confusion which is why BYOD (Buy your own dinner) meetups are encouraged where you come with the intention to meet smart people, discover each others super powers, know about their journey, build trust and lay the foundation to collaborate in future.
Best Practices for Buy Your Own Dinner meetups
- If it is too many folks and the restaurant can not take too many credit cards then one person pays ( there is some admin work but you get to keep the points) and send a sheet like this with payment details and the payment receipt image so that people can pay up - Expense Splitting Template - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Mrat4fIOt9ZCFnRVyYx1L23NommMan1PAlusg1xUgO0/edit?usp=sharing
- We eat family style and non-veg folks sit somewhat closer to split the non-veg dish
- Ideally everyone should get one alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink so that expenses can be split evenly without too much headache.
- Someone can volunteer (including the host) before the dinner and send preferred method to take payments
- If you know folks who live closer, send a note out for carpooling so you can have even more conversations
